The last night of our seven dray trip around Japan was spent at Palace Hotel Hakone. It was also the most expensive hotel we stayed at (even more expensive for one night than the hotel in Hiroshima where we spent two nights). We've never had our bags taken to our room before (not in Japan or anywhere else in the world).
We arrived after dark and were convinced to first of all try the Japanese hot spring bath. Since you're naked in the bath we couldn't enjoy it together. But since we got the hot spring baths all to ourselves (there were not very many other guests at the hotel), total silence and had a beautiful clear sky with lots of stars above us it was really nice even without each other by our sides.
When we got back to the room we tried the Kimono bath robe outfits, and Rickard got to act as a model showing our room (since there were lack of guests we were upgraded free of charge).
There was a pretty generous mini bar in the room and even though it was expensive we had to try at least one drink.
We had chips with nori flavour (the green stuff around the round sushi pieces) to go with the drink.
