We walked through Pontocho during the day so it was quiet. The small street through this part of town is famous for its nightlife and especially the geishas. At daytime it was just a cute street with lots of restaurants.
Used to be "The tale of two cities!"," BC! BC! BC! So glad to see you again! Highway 1: San Francisco - San Diego...glad to see you too!", "Here I come Washington D.C. and The Big Apple!", "Finally Japan...and along came Rickard", "Canada...here I come...again!" and before that "New Zealand...here I come...finally!"

Kyoto's alleys
The easiest way down from Kiyomizu-dera temple to the main road is through the narrow lane Kiyomizu-zaka. The lane was dubbed "Tea-pot alley" by 19th-century Western vistors. It was probably the most "touristy" place so far. Wall-to-wall shops with all kinds of classic tourist merchandice. We also found a museum entrance with a very honest opening hours policy.

We walked through Pontocho during the day so it was quiet. The small street through this part of town is famous for its nightlife and especially the geishas. At daytime it was just a cute street with lots of restaurants.
