I woke up in the middle of the night and was feeling wide awake. My first thought was that it was morning but then I looked outside and saw that it was still dark. Looking at the time I realized that it was still 2 hours until sunrise!
By then Björne had woken up as well and we decided to go to Brooklyn Bridge and both get the night skyline as well as the sunrise over Manhattan! The metro in NYC runs 24 hours so we made it down to City Hall/Brooklyn Bridge a little after 4 AM. Heading up Brooklyn Bridge we again were annoyed that the bridge is being renovated. But we made a good decision not choosing Manhattan Bridge instead to get a nice view of Brooklyn Bridge since Brooklyn Bridge wasn't lit up as it usually is.
We walked over the whole bridge and walked down to Brooklyn Bridge Park for an uninterrupted view of Manhattan. I was walking a little ahead of Björne and when I reached the park I thought a speaker talked to me saying something about the park being closed. I didn't really give it much more thought and walked down to the water taking pictures. When Björne arrived I asked him if he had heard anything but he said he hadn't. Walking back towards Brooklyn again I heard the speaker again and saw that a camera was flashing at me. When I listened to the whole message I realized that I actually had been trespassing :) But I guess they have no way of identifying med which is good!

Björne climbing Brooklyn Bridge...not really but close to :) |

Even though the bridge was lit up (except for the lights used for working on the bridge) the flag was at least lit up |
|
We were almost all alone up on the bridge, just three other people filming something and a few cyclists that passed by |

Full of beautiful memories of Manhattan we headed back to the hotel around 5:45 AM.
