The Canadian flag on the Kidston's porch.
Jumping in front of the gate out to the big field where Jan and Mike usually rides.
Jumping in front of the log house.
Bella looks happy that I'm finally leaving.
Jan's horse Whylie (to the right) and Mike's horse Skye (to the left).
Going through 100 Mile with Jan I finally managed to buy some Timbits at Tim Hortons. I don't actually like them very much but they are a must. For those who don't know what they are they are like small round donuts.
Quatchi with his favourite food: Timbits.
Jan is teaching Quatchi how to drive.
Look at him go!
We stopped at 70 Mile to watch the horse carriage racing that Jan and Mike friend that came out to Green Lake on Friday is competing in. Mike is also participating being her navigator in the far back of the carriage. It was really neat to watch the race especially the miniature horses that pulled large carriages and people through sometimes quite complicated "hazards". And I got to see Jaimie again and Shirley, Jan's mum who I haven't seen since 2005).
Shirley, Jaimie, Jan and I waiting for some action on the course.
Jaimie waiting a bit longer.
But we are happy even though we have to wait.
Miniature horses in one of the hazards.
The Kidston's friend and Mike going through the dice hazard (they go through the hazard in a few different ways marked by letters).
And then going through what was supposed to be the water hazard.
And the fourth hazard.
And finally the fifth and last hazard. The whole thing takes about a hour including the transportation ways in between and a rest stop.
After watching the friend and Mike Jan and I headed down to the coast. We were meant to pass Merritt to see Darlene (who was an exchange student in my family in the late 80s) but her daughter didn't feel well so we took a straighter route instead.
We ended up at a hotel in Richmond after visiting some friends in Chilliwack that up until last fall used to be neighbours to the Kidston family. Tomorrow will be an early day since the flight to San Francisco departs 6 AM sharp! I'm sad to leave Canada so soon but excited for another Highway 1 (I've been on the Canadian one for quite a bit now).
